Welcome to OCF at Purdue

WHO WE ARE

Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF) is the official collegiate campus ministry for Orthodox Christian students. It is a Pan-Orthodox organization that provides a community for college students to grow in their faith through worship, witness, service, fellowship, and education. We are the Purdue University chapter of OCF but over 270 campus chapters exist across the United States and Canada. To learn more about OCF on a national level, please visit the overall OCF website here.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to uphold the following pillars of Orthodox Christian Fellowship:

FELLOWSHIP

OCF is where lifelong friendships are made. Our chapter focuses on fellowship by planning social events, meeting members of other campus chapters at retreats, and creating teams for intramural sports. Some of our past social events include bowling, BBQs, ice cream socials, movie nights, and jeopardy.

WORSHIP

Our chapter organizes rides to our local Orthodox parish, St. Alexis Orthodox Church, for vespers every Saturday, liturgy every Sunday, and for special services during Holy Week and throughout the semester.

EDUCATION

Our chapter hosts weekly bible studies and book club, creating a space for members to learn more about the faith and have discussions. Our weekly meeting rotation also includes spiritual meetings designed with this pillar in mind. Spiritual meetings typically include a presentation and/or guest speaker.

SERVICE

Our chapter gives back to the community through service projects and events. Some things we have done in the past include volunteering at a food packing event, making blankets for the elderly, and creating cards for children’s hospitals and deployed troops.
